Kemp's was established by Harry Kemp in April 2003 after working for over 14 years in the accountancy profession, initially for local based practices and latterly as Taxation and Audit Partner for a London West End based practice. Harry was born in Broadstairs, attended Chatham House School, then Reading University and currently lives in Broadstairs in the old town. Harry manages the practice and the Broadstairs office in Kent, which has five staff. Harry has recently become a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.
In 2011 Kemps opened an office in Hamble, near Southampton. This is managed by John Callahgan who graduated in 1987 from Reading University with a degree in Accountancy. Qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1991 John worked as an audit manager for Touche Ross (now Deloittes) but soon left for a varied and highly successful career in industry. He brings to the practice strong commercial skills and a wide variety of technical knowledge.
Harry and John share a common philosophy which is to provide a friendly, personal, high quality service and to work proactively with clients to maximise the probability of them achieving their business goals, whatever they may be, whilst minimising their tax liabilities.
Client’s growth and business development have always been a priority and frequently such advice to clients runs parallel with other various ongoing client work, such as preparing or reviewing year end or management accounts, preparing personal or business tax returns, tax and vat planning, restructuring accounting function and systems, and many other services (see Our Services).
